Rome, Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast: 10 Day Detailed Itinerary
Day 0
Depart U.S. for Rome (Fiumicino airport/FCO) arrive early next day
Rome (Day 1-3)
We will explore the ancient ruins, including the Roman Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine HIll with a local guide. We will visit St Peter 's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museum, the Pantheon, the Jewish Quarter and the Borghese Gallery and Gardens. We will explore neighborhoods and piazzas, including Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza del Popolo and take a moonlit walk through the Baroque piazzas, including Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain and piazza di Spagna.
Amalfi Coast (Day 4-7)
From rome we travel by train train to Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. Perched high above the south Side of the Bay of Naples, Sorrento is resplendent with lemon and olive groves, old town streets brimful of shops, bars and eateries to enjoy the seafood from the Mediterranean. Using this town as our base, we will explore the spectacular Amalfi coast, including the villages of Positano and Amalfi. We will spend most of one day touring Herculaneum and Pompeii. We will also hop aboard the boat and visit the Isle of Capri for a day of wandering and visiting the Blue Grotto.
Naples (8-10)
A local guide will show us the sites and streets of the city. We will begin with the Via Toledo area, visiting the Galleria Umberto I, Palazzo Reale, Castel Nuova and Teatre San Carlo with a stop for caffé and a pastry at the venerable Caffé Gambrinus. The next day we will explore the Via Spaccanapoli, one of the most energetic places in Naples, brimful of churches, squares, shops and café´s. Here we will see the famous church of Gesu’ Nuovo and the convent and church of Santa Chiara. We will also devote some of our time to visit Naples’ wonderful Museo Archaeological Nazionale. And of course, we can’t leave Naples without indulging in one of the gastronomical specialties--Pizza Napoletano!

Today we connect with flights from the Napes International airport (Capodichino/ NAP) or continue to the Rome airport (Fiumicino/FCO) or trains to other parts of Italy.
